Hooray, today it's my turn! along with these sweet ladies, please visite their blogs as you do my blog:
First I love to hug Mme Samm of Sew we quilt.com for beïng an adorable organiser of this bloghop, and her cheerleader Erin of Sew at Home Mummy , she does a wonderful job, can't tell it's her first time, thanks for making bloghopping so much fun!
These are my mug rugs, the first is a design of the talented Sindy Rodenmayer of Fat Cat Patterns - the design I chose was a freebee that came out with her stunning Fiesta design, it's not on her site anymore, but there is enough eyecandy left, if you don't know her, please visit her site, you will not be disappointed:
I did it in bright colors and raw edge applique - the second mug rug I made was with churn dashes, the pattern is made by a lot of Dutch quilters at the moment, there has been a quilter Jeannet showing her quilts in quiltshop De Quilt Ster, the owner of the quiltshop made a little pattern to honour Jeannet, it's picked up by many of my friends and other Dutch quilters. I did't want to make the quilt, but liked to try a few smaller ones
For the third one I found a sweet free embroidery pattern on Wyldhare's Hollow - I used the Anchor no. 4591 to embroider - earlier I won a give away of Thearica Burroughs of Crazy Quilting Supplies.com and was allowed to spend 25 dollar in her shop (yummie!), this embroidery thread was one of the things I picked. It stitches great, I enjoyed working with it
When I was attaching the binding I noticed that I was a bit too quick, I forgot all about the quilting! That was this weekend, I didn't find the courage to quilt it, was afraid I would ruin it being in a hurry *Ü*
This is my little shower of mug rugs
I have one tip for you, if you like to enjoy your mug rug longer and keep it clean: spray it with impregnation spray for textile .(this tip I learned from my dear and talented friend Gina, you will meet her in the 'Say it with flowers' bloghop) LOL, I understand that it is not what you call it, you know it under the name: Scotchguard ( Thank you, Rina Mason)
You made it till the end of my show, how about a silly give away? When I read about the April Showers bloghop and jumped in, I decided to have a give away, but what would be a nice present to give - I could give a mug rug, but most of you made mug rugs, so you have your own. When I went shopping with my sister in the lovely city Alkmaar I saw in a window of a darling little shop (no website) some great Dutch hankerchiefs, I decided they would make a cute give away, they are great to blow your nose in, but also they make great material to use in a quilt project. Let me know if you want in and make a chance to win these hankies (you do not need to become a follower, the next post will be in Dutch again)
Thanks for visiting my blog, please visite the other blogs as well, the participants are all showing great creativity in their work and no one travels faster around the world like a bloghopper, you see blogs all over the world, don't forget to cheer them on, they are worth it!
I wish you a great day, happy quilting or crafting! Hope to see you again.
Oops, forgot to tell when I will pick a winner, that will be Saterday 20th of April *Ü*
